Turning 40 feels like stepping into sacred territory. Across history and faith, the number 40 has symbolized seasons of testing, transformation, and preparation for something greater—40 years in the wilderness, 40 days of rain, 40 days of fasting before ministry. Each moment marked the close of one chapter and the birth of another.

And here I am—standing on that threshold myself.

Farewell to Familiar Spaces

These past few months have been… real. My emotions have been everywhere, swinging between excitement and fear. After 13 years with DCPS, I’m transitioning into something new. That place shaped me, stretched me, and gave me space to bring customer service into every corner—reminding me (and hopefully others) that service isn’t just for hospitality. It belongs in how we treat colleagues, stakeholders, and everyone we cross paths with.

Bills Don’t Age, But Bodies Do 💸

Let’s be honest: leaving behind a steady paycheck to step into the hustle is a different kind of test. My body doesn’t do doubles like it used to (shoutout to orthopedic shoes, compression sleeves, and yoga stretches for holding me down). Yet—those bills haven’t aged a day. So, the hustle continues.

Craving Routine, Chasing Growth

In the midst of all this change, I find myself craving something deeper: routine, structure, and intentional growth. That’s why this season is dedicated to my Rich Auntie Reset & Glow Up.

Daily Massages are Mandatory 💆🏾‍♀️

I’m diving headfirst into personal development—working on setting boundaries, saying no without guilt, speaking up with confidence, and even tackling those quiet struggles like jealousy or avoiding conflict. I’m creating space for stillness, reflection, and self-care.

Think: daily massages (yes, plural), meditation, journaling, and good books. On my list? Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff and How to Be the Love You Seek. Plus, I’m carrying homework from therapy—like writing my own self-portrait.
